Summary of comedy test project
My Lecturer has me the task of doing a short comedy test. The aim of this project is to show my skills within this genre. You will find a rough mind map of the story and character ideas I created for my short project. In addition, you will find a final mind map which show’s which ideas I decided will be in my comedy test. My storyboards also show what my story is and what film techniques I have decided to use in this storyboard.
Story Summary
A character called Samuel works for his local government and is a respected politician. He is called in to meet his manager Bruce one day so they can discuss his progress. Samuel find’s out he is being promoted to a job position in the national government. He doesn’t want the job as it involves doing a lot of stressful work. However, his superiors want him to expand his abilities in his career and they believe he is the best person for this job role. Later, two other character’s come (Martin and Raymond) and tell him why he should get this job.

Script
I created a script for my comedy test which shows the story and characters.
Influence storyboard
My influence for my storyboard is a scene from hot fuzz. My influence storyboard shows where I decided where my influence would be in my storyboard.
Conclusion of my comedy test project
I presented my comedy project to my class and lecturers. I had a lot of positive feedback and was given a few points on how to improve for my next product. For example, my lecturer suggested I should film a pitch scene of my product to see if this how I would envision my product.
Overall, I enjoyed creating this comedy project and was happy with the feedback my class and lecturers gave me. Their feedback is important is it will help me improve with other genre test projects I will be doing.
