Reflection of final show – To begin with, I felt that our show went very well when it was being broadcasted live on the internet and in college . We had a tough start to our radio show due to technical difficulties with Spencer’s mic as he could not be heard. This technical difficulty lasted for a least three minutes. However, Spencer managed to fix his mic and our audience could fully hear us and we only had a few technical difficulties through the rest of our show. For example, when we were playing a song the audio volumes would be quite loud and we had to turn the volume down a bit. Furthermore we told our audience about how we raised money for comic relief and they can donate to our just giving pages so we can raise money for comic relief. In addition, the speech based package informed them more about comic relief too. We managed to play all our songs and play trivia games too. Overall, I think our show was successful, enjoyable and entertaining and we enjoyed doing our first live broadcast radio show.
My performance – I felt that I did my best in my performance. For example, I participated in our live Facebook group chat. I informed our audience of my challenge I was doing that was raising money for comic relief. In addition, I asked Spencer some questions about comic relief that made our discussion more interesting for our audience. Furthermore, I participated in trivia games too. To improve for my next performance, I will try to do more research on different games and try to talk about more topics on our show. I will do this because it will make my target audience more interested in my radio’s show’s content and doing research for different games will allow me to think of what game’s I will like to include in my show. Overall, I felt very happy with my performance that I did on my final broadcast.
Group performance – I felt that my group we had a successful performance when we were broadcasting. Spencer showed a lot of enthusiasm when he was talking and was committed too doing his best when broadcasting live. We did a live Facebook chat with people on our radio show and answered some questions for people who were listening. Furthermore, we enjoyed playing our trivia games and it was entertaining for our audience too. An improvement I would like to do is talking about more topics on our show. This is because, we had a strict time schedule to follow and if we talked beyond our time schedule it would disrupt our show. For my next radio project I will like to create a better time schedule that will allows us to talk for a bit more time. Overall, my group was happy with the performance we did when broadcasting and we were committed to entertain our viewers by doing trivia games and a live Facebook q and a chat with our audience.
Strengths – I believe these were my following strengths when I was doing my final show: organised time schedule, audience interaction and discussion time. I believe I improved these strengths as I was more aware of how the time schedule worked. I interacted with my audience through Facebook live and I was aware of how long our discussion’s should be when we were broadcasting live. Furthermore, I believe these strengths will continue to get better for my next radio project.
Weaknesses – I believe these were my following weakness when I was doing my final show: more research for trivia games, music bed and sound effects for trivia games. these were my weaknesses because I did not do enough research for answers for the trivia games. To improve for another radio project, I will do more research for answers for trivia games and try to memorize the answers. Furthermore, I think me and my group should of created a music bed and sound effects for our show as it would of made audience more interested in our show. To improve this aim, me and my team will create a music bed and sounds effects using garage band and include it in our show. Overall, I would like to improve theses weaknesses before my final show as it will help me improve my skills in radio even further.
Improvements – I believe that If I had to do my show again I would like to make the following improvements: more time to play games, better mic volume and more time to air songs. I would like to make these improvements because it will improve our time skills a lot more and we will able to improve knowledge of audio. I believe these improvements would help me for my next project.
