Location Recce – Stratford Upon Avon Town
For my group’s task of creating a short film, we went around Stratford Upon Avon town to take photos of where we will be doing our filming.
Image 1 – Police Station
Firstly, If filming took place at the police station, my group must get permission from the people who work here because they need to know why we are filming and what we will be doing. If we don’t ask for permission then it will be a risk as their time is being wasted and we would be banned from filming at this location too. Moreover, if any police cars needed to anywhere for an emergency then it will be hard for the officers to get there because we will need to move film equipment out of the way to avoid any accidents. A hazard that could happen is that if any of us had to move any film equipment, someone could slip or trip over a pavement and be seriously injured.
Image 2 – Local park
Secondly, a hazard that could potentially happen is that if filming took place near a tight space someone could trip and hurt themselves as they may be carrying film equipment. In addition, if filming had to take over a week or a few days then we must have permission in order to film. However, if the film crew doesn’t ask for permission then people will begin to complain as the park is being restricted to the public and we will be stopped from filming.
Image 3 – Watershed
Thirdly, a risk that may happen is if anyone slips or falls into the river they could be seriously injured or suffer from any other health problems. In addition, if any film equipment fell in the river too then it will coast a lot of money to be fixed or replaced. Furthermore, some animals live in the watershed and a risk that may happen is that the animals will be in danger if any intensive filming happens and some animals may attack which would lead to someone being injured or damage to film equipment.
Image 4 – Church
Fourthly, the film crew must have permission to film at this location because the people will need to know how long we are filming for. However, if the film crew doesn’t ask for permission then the public will be restricted from visiting the church and the film crew will be banned from this location due to complaints .
Image 5 – Shakespeare monuments
Finally, a risk that could occur when filming at the monuments is that if the rocky surface is slippery then someone slip and potentially be seriously injured. Furthermore , our film crew must seek permission to film near the monuments because the public go to see these statues and the film crew need to state how long they will film for. However, some people may complain due to the statues being restricted to the public.
Conclusion
Overall, Stratford Upon Avon’s town has a lot of great locations to film and there is potential to film some great scenes. However, our film crew must seek permission to film at these locations as they are used by the public and the film crew must state how long they are filming for because then the public will then be restricted from visiting these locations and some people may complain due to a lack of explanation.
