Film Production

Audio Redub Project – Dead pool car chase scene

Firstly, Me and three media students had the task of re-dubbing a film scene from the movie dead pool. We had to replace the original movie audio and create our own audio. I had job role of being a sound editor for this project.

The role of a sound editor is to prepare the music, sound effects and dialogue for the final product in audio post production. In addition, they work with the director to remove any  audio that won’t fit a final film scene.

Secondly, I created my own sound designs that will be used for the audio re dub. Thirdly, I edited my sound designs using final cut pro and knew what sounds would fit the final scene.

Finally, after I finished my final product the director approved my edit and no changes were made to the clip I edited. I feel that I did very well when doing this job role as I understood which  sound effects  would be appropriate for the that I edited.

I had positive feedback when my lecturer looked at my final edit. If I want to improve for a future audio re dub project  I have set myself the following targets: expreiment with more sound editing techniques, expirement with different sound designs and editing longer audio clips.
