Pokemon Sun and Moon Anime Episode 136 Review – Ya Boi vs The Ageless Ash!

Welcome back to my review of the Pokemon Sun and Moon Anime Series! On this episode, who will emerge as the victor of Kiawe and Gladion’s match?! And Ash and Ya Boi will be facing off each other in their match!

Before you carry on reading this review take your time to look at the 1st subheading.

An Important Pokemon Annocument!?

If you don’t know by now, on sunday 1st september 2019 Pokemon will be annoucing a major annocument during the airing of the next Sun and Moon anime episode in Japan! Its unknown what the annocument will be about. I highley reccomend looking at any Youtubers streaming the next episode or social media as they will be covering the announcement! I will really look forward to seeing what the annocument will be!

Kiawe vs Gladion Continued!

Gladion and Kiawe are both down to one Pokemon each (Silvally and Turtonator)! Both Pokemon are giving their all in this battle! During the match, Silvally traps its foot in the ground giving Turtonator a chance to use (Inferno Overdrive) to win the match! However, Gladion threw a fire memory into Silvally and survived the attack!

Gladion then commands Silvally to use Crush Claw and Turtonator counters with Dragon Tail… Unfortunately , Silvally was so quick with its attack it knocked out Turtonator thus Gladion advances to the finals!

Both trainers shack each other’s hands and Kiawe tells Gladion that he considers him a great rival and he looks forward to their rematch in the future! Gladion says he looks forward to it as well! (To which I say if only that would really happen! Knowing this anime it proably might never happen!)

Ya Boi vs Ashy Boy!

The match starts with Ash using his Torracat against Guzma’s Scizor! But, after Scizor counters Fire Blast using U-Turn it withdraws and Golisopod takes its place! Guzma’s stratgey is to defeat Torracat with Golisopod since it is a water type and Torracat is a fire type!

Both Pokemon are knocking each other around and Torracat gets slighly hurt by Pin Missile after failing to use Flame Charge on Golisopod! Ash and Torracat don’t give up and counter Golisopod’s Liquidation with Revenge! Golisopod is clearly inimidated by Torracat’s power. It then panics after seeing Fire Blast so it returns to its Pokeball shocking Guzma! Once Golisopod swithces places with Scizor, Fire Blast knocks it out and the echo of Nanu of annoucing its defeat shocks Guzma completly!

Guzma scolds Golisopod for what it did and it becomes uncomfatable by the Guzma’s harsh treatment. Even Plumeria and the grunts become sligtly disturbed by what Guzma’s is saying to Golisopod too. The episode ends here and the match will only get more intsense on the next episode.

My Overall Thoughts!

Gladion and Kiawe’s Battle… Awesome! and… Missed Opptunties?!

Gladion and Kiawe’s Battle… Awesome! and… Missed Opptunties?!

The battle of Gladion against Kiawe was one of the most entertaning battles of the league so far and is one of my favourite. Each trainer was battling at their full potential and the animation was awsome too! My favourite piece of animation from the battle was when Gladion used the Fire Memory to make Sivally surivive the firium – z attack. The movment of the fire and their pose after the fire went out looked badass!

Kiawe to me is easily the best battler out of the gang (exlcluding Ash) as he managed to make into the top 4, past episodes dedicate a lot of screentime for his battles and his Pokemon have really shown how good at battling they are. He certainly come a long way from the 1st ever person to use a z-move in the anime.

However, the promise of Kiawe and Gladion battling each other again in the future I am not quite sure might ever happen! If you have watched the anime, often they tend to ignore Ash and his companions adventures and dedicate the story of the current reigon Ash is travelling.

The anime is not willing to create more spin offs and is afraid of taking risks. I would love to see a spin of series featuring Ash’s rivals throught his adventure and dedicate a couple of episodes to see what they have been up to. Its really important no one forgets about Ash’s past friends and how they have impacted his character/story in some way!

I hope the anime commits to these characters promises if they do another series! As I have said before in past blog posts this anime has a lot of opptunties to expand the story and do more!

Guzma’s development is slowy getting off to a great start

I have really enjoyed Guzma and Ash’s battle so far and I will give more of my opninon of the their battle on my next blog post. I am really happy to see Guzma being developed this being reflected in him seeing Kukui in Ash and his complete shock over Scizor’s defeat. His current version of him is cocky/harsh this being reprsented in his treatment towards his ace. Even Golisopod feels uncofttable with the way Guzma is treating it and all of this will contribute to his downfall in this battle.

I really do hope his development can carry on reaching new heights as he can easily become one of the best developed anti hero characters in the anime!

Next Episode 137 Undefeated Emperor Guzma – Airdate (01/09/2019)

On the next episode, Ash and Guzma’s match will be getting more intense!

Let me know what you thought of this weeks episode and I will see you on the next review!

See you soon!
