Pokemon Sun and Moon Episode 130 Review – One of the best league matches!

Welcome to my review of the 130th episode of the Pokemon Sun and Moon Anime! Here is a recap of the Alola league so far. The gang have made it to the top 16 where they will be facing against different opponents who also won the battle royale. In this episode we will see the following matches: Ash vs Faba, Mallow vs Lana, Hau vs Samson Oak and Guzma vs llima!

Ash vs Faba – Short but Hilarious!

The 1st match is Ash’s Meltan vs Faba’s Hypno. Ash orignally inteded to use Pikachu but Faba commanded Hypno to use its psychic powers to choose Meltan instead. Its revealed that before the match, Faba spied on Ash and choose Meltan as he knew it would be the easiest Pokemon of his to knock out based on its apperance.

Faba of course is an idiot! As he dosent know Ash’s Meltan is capable of! So, Meltan eats Hypno’s pendulum which causes it to panic. Meltan then uses flash cannon which knocks out Hypno thus Ash wins the match allowing him to advance to the top 8!

Although, this match was short it was very funny! Faba’s master plan backfired badly and the way Ash/Meltan won had me in stiches! Just goes to show how much of a fool Faba is!

Prince Pokeschool vs Ya boi!

Its llima’s Kangaskhan vs Guzma’s Scizzor! It starts off with Kangaskhan using Power Up Punch and Scizor countering with Bullet Punch! Eventually, llima uses mega evolution and we get to see Mega Kangaskhan! Although, Guzma is a bit worried about this he dosent hesistate and commands his Scrizor to dodge the baby’s attacks and just attack the mother by using X-Scissor.

Kiawe tells the gang that Guzma created a clever stratgey as if he commanded Scrizor to attack the offspring then it would of made the mother angry which means the match would of turned out differently as Kangaskhan is very protective of its child. After a final x-scissor, Guzma wins the battle thus he advances too.

This match was good. Its a shame we won’t get to see Ilima battle with his Pokemon for a while. However, it was great to see him using mega evolution to his advantage and how much of a powerful opponent he was. Guzma is a force to reckoned as not only are his Pokemon tough. He is very clever too! Proven by the strategy he created which means he will be a tough opponent for who ever he faces next.

Hau vs Samson Oak – Awsome Animation in this battle!

Hau uses his Alolan Raichu against Samson’s Alolan Exeggutor. It is defeated after being knocked by an Electro Ball.Hala also looks very proud his grandson as he celebrates his victory!

There isnt much to say about this battle but the one thing that did stand out in this battle was the animation. Raichu’s quickattack felt very fluid and the camera movements were neat! However, I look forward to Hau unleashing his full potential once the next set of rounds start!

Mallow vs Lana – The best match of them all…

Mallow uses Tsareena against Lana’s Primarina. Even Ulu (Mallow’s Brother) races along to the stadium to watch! Although they know they are friends, they promise each other they wont’t go easy on each other as they both want to do their best to advance!

Tsareena starts off with using Magical Leaf, Primarina countering with Sparkling Aria. After trying to land a Trop Kick, Lana suprises Mallow by commanding Primarina to use Icy Wind which causes Tsareena to suffer a lot of damage! Not wanting to see her Pokemon suffer anymore damage Mallow decides to withdraw but Tsareena refuses. Lana tells Mallow, Tsareena dosent want to give up yet and during a flashback Mallow remebers how far she has come with Tsareena when it was a Bounsweet.

At long last, she is able to peform ‘Bloom Doom’ upon her feelings connecting with Tsareena! Lana counters back with Primarina using ‘Oceanic Oprette’ while adriming Mallow’s peformance. After this, Primarina then uses Aqua Jet and Tsareena prepares to use Trop Kick! Unfortunatley, the impact of damage causes Tsareena to fall and is defeated.

As Mallow is reassuring her patner, Ulu tells her from the sidelines how proud he is of her performance. Lana and Mallow shake each others hands and complent each other about how well they did with their Pokemon.

This battle was brilliant and was obviously the best battle of them all! Both trainers shined in this battle along with their Pokemon! Lana battling to her full potenial in this match was amazing and her suprise attack is something I did not expect to see. I hope to see her continue to battle like this and get even better! Mallow had great development as she was going to withdraw but her reflection on her progress with Tsareena combined with her not wanting to give up made her determined to stay on.

This resulted in her being able to finally peform the Z-move as she orignally could not do it. All I can say is Mallow to me is the most improved character in terms of development in the series so far and I hope she continues like this until the end!
