Welcome to back to another review of the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime! Professor Kukui and Ash promised each other much early on in the series they will battle each other…Now their promise has come true as they finally face each other!
The way I will be structing this review will be different this time as instead of focusing on breaking down a lot of the narrative for this episode. So instead I will be covering the battle since it is the main focus of this episode. Other important parts will be included in my opninon/cristism section.
Torracat vs Ininceroar Rivarly Continued!
Ash and Kukui’s battle will consist of them each using 6 pokemon! Their battle starts with Torracat against Incineroar! Torracat uses flame charge to start off but the attack is blocked by Incineroar’s bulk up. The intensity continues, with Incineroar using blast burn which is absorbed by Torracat’s flame bell but the power of the move causes its flame bell to spew lots of smoke making Torracat exhausted.
Ash switches Torracat for his Dusk Lycanroc so it can rest up fully before cotiuning to battle..
A sucessful hit!
Incineroar destroys Lycanroc’s stone edge but Ash see’s an oppunity for Lycanroc to grab a piece of stone for a chance to hit Incineroar. Incineroar counters this with throat chop but the impact of Lycanroc’s attack causes a good amount of damage!
Incineroar returns to its pokeball so it can rest and Braviery is sent out in its place. Kukui commands it to use rock slide. With the battle heating up more and more what will Ash’s strategy be next?
My opinion/critcism’s
Kukui’s secret as the Masked Royal and Passion for battling
Although everyone was complety shocked by Kukui’s well kept secret they were not too fused about it! Partically Ash and Burnet as they are eager to see how powerful Kukui will be in battle. I also like how everyone still respects Kukui for being himself and not for just being the Masked Royal.
Kukui has shown throught the series to very laid back. However, once he is serious, he is a complety different person. The best examples of his serious side is when he is the Masked Royal and his passion for battling. He is very enthuastic when battling with his mons and is a tough oppnent too! I got chills hearing his voice during the battle as he clearly shows he has a love for battling.
Kukui has been a great charcter so far in the series and I consider him to be one of the best developed professor’s thorught the entrie franchise! I hope to see more professor’s like this or other characters too!
One of the biggest mysterious is his sixth party pokemon as five members of his party have been leaked and his sixth one has not been shown. A possible idea maybe that it is a unrevealed Galar Pokemon which is sure to create a lot of buzz since Sword and Shield is not far from being released! I look to the rest of the battle as it rages on!
Will Torracat evolve into Incineroar?
Another big question is the possibility of Torracat evolving into Incineroar. I believe that it will evolve during its cotinued battle with Incineroar similuar to how it evolved when it got grabbed. This could be one of the most epic evolution scenes ever as the animation will be the main highlight for its evoltution and battle!
Why is Tapu Koko still obsevering Ash?
At the begining of the episode, Tapu Koko obsevered Ash from a distance. This could mean that Tapu Koko is still very curious about still learning more about Ash and their will proably be an episode dedicated to exploring this situation more.
I predict that Tapu Koko will wish to have another battle with Ash because of how far he has progressed as a trainer in this reigon and proably might give him a gift that will come in handy for his adventure in the Galar region. I hope they dont put this story towards the side as it is really interesting to see how it will progress in the future.
Overall thoughts
This episode was a great start! As for how long this battle will last it will proably be at least two more episodes before it finally concludes. The highlight of this episode is easily the start of Ash and Kukui’s battle it feels awsome to finally see them have a full 6 v 6 battle and no doubt it will be one to watch!
